The 2009/2010 London Lynx U16 AA team is grounded by a solid base of local London talent (5 players) along with a strong group of dedicated girls from regional centres: Tillsonburg (2), Exeter (2), Forest (4), Goderich (1) and Chatham (1). Throw into the mix an experienced head coach that is new the players and there has been quite a lot of learning happening in the early part of the season.
As the girls and the coaches have come together with a single purpose and plan the team ended 2009 on a four game win streak. At the first provincial seeding tournament in early January the team turned in a solid showing, placing third, and hinted at even better things to come. These young athletes show a competitive drive and desire to excel on a weekly basis as they make substantial personal sacrifices to play the sport they love at the highest level possible for their age. They work hard, compete hard, display good sportsmanship and every week they become a better team. They can and will be a dangerous team to play when the Provincial Championships in Nepean are contested in February. London can be proud of how they are represented; the parents and coaches are.
