The London Lynx Belle C Ringette team returned home Sunday February 13th, from the 31st Annual Gloucester (Ottawa) Ringette tournament with the Silver medal in the Belle B division.

The team of 16 to 18 year old young women finished the round robin with a perfect 3-0 record with wins over Gloucester (5-2), Kingston (1-0) and Beaconsfield-Kirkland (Montreal) (3-0). In the championship game against Kingston, the score was 2-0 for Kingston after the first half, but 2 goals by Ellen Leitch, a minute and a half apart mid way through the second half tied the game and sent it to overtime. One minute and twenty-one seconds into overtime, Kingston found the back of the net to win the Gold medal.  The London team recorded 6 shutout periods during the 8 periods played in the tournament thanks to goalie Kayla Vermeltfoort and assisted by the defence of Krysta Hart, Maggie Knight, Devon Williamson, Kristen Conrad and Shannon Adams.  Offense was supplied by centers and forwards Ellen Leitch, Brianne Gosselin, Melissa Igras, Erinne Atchison, Ashley Graham, Ashley Hart, Alex Laking, Jenna Stewart, and Michelle Walker.  Coach Kevin Knight and Manager Laurie Graham were very proud of tremendous team-work shown during the entire weekend..  The team was cheered on by a loud but small group or parents Pat Conrad, Diana Williamson, Dell Walker, Dale Hart and bus driver and parent Dave Igras.
